BULK have clients across the UK and Europe. This digital-first client knew they needed seamless operations and a strong tech backbone. However, their Chief Technology Officer left the business suddenly, leaving our client in a tight spot.

The tech team was already dealing with a major ERP system implementation, trying to improve their ways of working after a recent restructure. On top of that, their digital programme – responsible for enhancing the customer purchasing experience – wasn’t delivering at the pace or quality needed. With no tech leadership in place and multiple critical initiatives underway, the company needed urgent support to avoid costly delays and ensure business continuity.

The Solution

A deep dive into the ERP programme revealed significant issues and, without intervention, it was clear it wouldn’t deliver the expected benefits. In addition, we assessed the tech team’s capabilities, identifying critical gaps in skills and capacity that needed addressing to support long-term business growth.

The Transformation

Under our CTO’s guidance, the business quickly regained control. The ERP programme was restructured, and the successful rollout led to better operational efficiency and improved collaboration with the third-party logistics partner.

The digital roadmap – which had been fragmented – was given a new focus, with clearer team roles and streamlined delivery processes.  The company-wide portfolio management function led to better strategic planning and faster execution of key initiatives.
